A day in the life of President Bush (3/20/05): photos

The President left his family back home in Crawford and flew back to DC accompanied only by lower-level aides. He probably doesn't even have one of the dogs with him. Not only that, but he has previously scheduled trips to New Mexico, Arizona and Colorado beginning Monday, before the U.S.-Canadian-Mexican trilateral talks in Texas on Wednesday. And he was coughing a bit as he boarded AF1 earlier. So after this exraordinary effort on his part, here's what I have to say to all those who claim to be on the Right side of the political spectrum, but who are always carping about this great man's "failure" to be a "real" conservative: #@!* you!

I had not planned to put up a new Dose today, but this is an extraordinary situation. The upper part of this Dose will be an abbreviated one.

Unplanned ping to new Dose thread. The President arrives back in Washington on standby awaiting Congressional action on the Schiavo case. I believe this is a first in U.S. history, so it at least deserves its own thread.

I urge you to please treat all FReepers with respect. History will be kind to our president, George W. Bush. There is no reason to pay attention to the naysayers.

The President coughs as he heads toward AF1 in Texas.

The President boarding AF1 in Texas.

An exhausted-looking GWB as he arrived at Andrews AFB.

A grim-looking GWB arriving on the South Lawn of the WH today.

A bit of a wave to the press, but he didn't answer any questions.

I'll be blunt, people. I worry more about GWB's well-being than I do about what's going on in Florida.

Crossing the South Lawn.

The president will be fine. He is a healthy man, and fortunately is able to speak for himself as to his health care.

No family. No pets. Few, if any of his senior aides with him. And a bit of a cough. It hurts me to see this.

Don't think it's the job. It looks like he's ill.

Well at least he had Scott McClellan and National Security Advisor Stephen Hadley with him, as well as deputy chief of staff Joe Hagin, and presidential assistant Blake Gottesman.

He not only looks grim, he looks poorly. I've never seen him looking so haggard.
Will pray for him now.

He may have a bit of the flu. Or a lot of the flu. But he's healthy and it will pass. I'm sure he feels he needs to be in DC. And he does.

In defense of Wolfstar, it gets very tedious and irritating to have blowhard know-it-all 'conservative purists' bash this President over and over again, when the fact is that he is the MOST conservative President we have had in my lifetime.
Praise the LORD for his stand on the sanctity of life! May God strengthen him as he fights this battle for the very soul of this nation!
