Michael's testimony is not at issue in the legal posture of the case before the SCOTUS. Are you a lawyer?

It sure as hell seems to be at issue here on FR by those who want to accuse him of everything short of being a Nazi sympathizer or worse.

It's a little different now, don't you think? They're making them all over the place on national TV.

Michael only said this seven years after the fact. Why did he wait until he got rich of her case before deciding to pull the plug?

He doesn't care at all about Terri. His testimony is a lie.

Terri's friends testify that she would have wanted to live.

And, they did not have a financial motive.

It further suggests that MS's testimony about Terri's wishes should not be given much weight.

Why is that? Didn't his sworn testimony as evidence form a basis as to upholding the state law of Florida?

Seriously........do you know know how a lawsuit works? One side has witnesses and the other side has witnesses.

Regardless of what the "others" said, the jury believed the evidence that she was bulimic.

So that is a LEGAL RULING that bulimia in fact caused her cardiac arrest.

If its good enough for the U.S. Supreme Court, it's good enough for me.

The issues before them were narrow. They didn't even have to appeal to international law this time.

"His testimony is a lie."

Really. Please substantiate this.

Terri's friends testify that she would have wanted to live.

She nearly killed herself drinking 10-15 glasses of iced tea. Doesn't sound like she was very optimistic about her appearance, let alone her health.

Yes, they are; all over time. It's unseemly.

It's indecent and highly slanderous.

If Terri was a lesbian and her condition was due to AIDS, your side would be screaming for Michael's head.

My god, how have you managed to sink that low?

Juries/Judges find in favor with just sworn testimony all the time in cases.

In criminal cases, it's "beyond a reasonable doubt". A single credible witness doesn't even begin to cover it. In civil cases, it's a "preponderance of the evidence". Here it seems to be "Well, if he says so..."

The family is accusing him now of causing her injuries, they are defaming his character left and right.

Perhaps, they've got nothing else to go on. Perhaps the reason it wasn't admitted as evidence in a court is possible their own attorney's thought it was ludicrous as well.

I think the reason they (and others on these threads) accuse him of causing her injuries is because if they don't have someone to blame they have to come to grips with the fact that Terri is in the situation she is in because of the choices she made.

Peach, I am sorry, but you are wrong on this issue.

***MICHAEL ONLY PUSHED FOR HIS WIFE'S DEATH ONCE HE GOT HIS MONEY 7 YEARS INTO THE ORDEAL. BEFORE THAT, HIS TESTIMONY WAS THE EXACT OPPOSITE....HE SAID BEFORE THAN TERRI WOULD NOT HAVE WANTED TO DIE*****

And you actually believe that son of a *$&%?

He will burn in hell for his sick game.

Plus, his adultery. He started dating IN 1991! So much for him grieving over his wife's accident. He started dating in 1991 for crying out loud.

The man is a selfish bastard and I don't miss him if somebody offs him in this life to get him to hell quicker.

Maybe I should read the case before the USSC.

Maybe the question was asked to clarify lifestyle changes in the time since the incident.

I responded to the inquiry with what I've read on the subject.

Look up ^ 551

"or the next friend of an incapacitated person, may remove any claim or cause of action described in subsection (b) to the United States district ..."

"`(2) the term `next friend' means an individual who has some significant relationship with the real party in interest"

I suppose that could be even a former spouse, present day secret lover, or priest ...

It wasn't a single witness. And there were inconsistencies in the testimony of the witnesses for the other side -- making their testimony not credible.
