Here's what keeps me going back and forth on this case. How many Freepers would want to sustained in Terry' condition by well-meaning family members? I wouldn't my wife wouldn't. My parents wouldn't. Many on the "life" side try to make it sound like she is merely severely retarded, but she is beyond that. Her family is seeing what they want to see.

.

The Issue here is:

TERRI can breath unassisted.

TERRI can eat food thru her mouth, food that MICHAEL has been stopping her from having for years.

TERRI can SPEAK.

TERRI is NOT the Living Dead.

TERRI is capable of being re-hab'ed. TERRI rehabilitation that MICHAEL has been preventing for years as he continues to make babies with his lover.

The U.S. Constiution guarantee's each person the Right to LIFE, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Which of these 3 Constitutionally guaranteed Rights has MICHAEL been properly looking after for his wife TERRI..?

Thought so.

What you want is irrelevant. What I want is irrelevant. What any of us would like in the same situation is irrelevant. If you want to weigh in on the situation if it were you, then make a living will. The way so many project their selves into a life and death situation is an exercise in self absorption.

For what it is worth, personally I would not like living as Terri is and I would not like heroic measures to preserve life unnaturally but that is not the situation Terri is in. She does not need heroic measures she needs a feeding tube at most and someone to keep her clean etc. I have cared for a terminally ill father with not much less in the way of needs. Big Media is not telling people the truth and most are not really listening to the facts of the case so they project what they think (uninformed thinking but think just the same) onto the situation.

So the seventeen sworn affidavits from neurologists who asseret that Terri can benefit from rehab therapy which her 'loving hubby' has chosen to withhold since the court awarded million plus for same, all those physicians are wrong because they don't fit your arbitrarily chosen belief of Terri's 'condition'?

"How many Freepers would want to sustained in Terry' condition by well-meaning family members?"

The thing is that in this case they can just ask her. The judge could do that, but he has never seen her.

Nobody would volunteer to live as Terri Schiavo does. I mean, duh.

But we don't kill people just because they are disabled.
