The thing is that in this case they can just ask her. The judge could do that, but he has never seen her.

On a related note, I just saw a bombshell video on Fox News. They said it was an exclusive video just given to them by Mr. Schindler (Terri's dad). It's of him talking to Terri and asking her to smile for him. In response she starts vocalizing, an extended gutteral sound, but a direct response nonetheless.

I believe that even filming this video, let alone giving it to the media, means that the Schindlers are now in contempt of Judge Greer's direct orders that no cameras or tape recorders can be allowed in Terri's room. Seeing videos such as this one makes it evident why Judge Greer is so adamant about this point. He needs the public to only perceive Terri as a vegetable.

Although I understand your frustration I have to disagree with your point. It is not our right to sacrifice Terri's life to our principles even to promote the right to life for the disabled. While Terri lives we must do what we can to prevent her martyrdom.
