And why does he have so much clout?
Is he the son or brother of someone in a position of power? He looks like one of the Village People, for what its worth - very much like that sleazy porn king who was married to Dorothy Stratton.
One of the things I don't see discussed, which is quite vitally important--is that this is a probatecourt and judge. One judge, no jury, has decided Terri's fate like she is an inheritance--a piece of property. Michael has decided to dispose of the property--but Terri's parents want "it." You even see people in FR argue that as strict constitutional constructionists, we ought to welcome Michael's "rights" to dispose of Terri. Crazy.
The entire case is a no-brainer, which is why there is so emotion directed at Michael and Judge Shylock. Michael has moved on--he should have signed over "rights" to the "property" when he moved in with another woman and started to sire children on her. He no longer can claim an interesest in Terri, but it's like the Princess and the Pea...He can't seem to be comfortable until the little bump in the mattress is gone.
No therapy, no sunshine, no cameras are allowed. There's a rumor out there that Terri's headed for a quick cremation without autopsy--I find that crazy, but so much else has been crazy that I'm willing to wonder if it's really true.
What is needed is a new guardianship hearing, and a new physical exam. 33 docs have signed affadavits that Terri could improve. Terri is not in intractable pain.
It's been upsetting, too, to see the death-dealing attitudes here on FR. It's like Terri being in the same world with them is an offense.
