Apparently he thought that not only were we not Christians (whereas he was -"Liberation theology, man!"), but that as well, Jesus was an anarchist and all the poor people starving to death on the streets and sidewalks were our fault, because we were so selfish that we ignored them as we went about living our callously unjust, oppressive, fat-cat, rich capitalist lives to the detriment of the poor...I asked him what his Ph.D. was in...

I've run into this phenomenon, too. I had a confrontation with a couple of guys (who left in black and white taxis) here in Freeport last month, and from the moment he got there he was speaking every blasphemy he could think of, assuming both of us who were there were Christians. Now, his assumption was accurate, but it was still unwarranted because there was no identifier that marked us as Christians. He not only assumed that anyone pro-troop must be a Christian, he assumed that we believed it was OK to spread Christianity by taking over other countries and forcibly converting their citizens.

At that particular corner there is a large electrical transformer box, which the more vocal bozo climbed up on so he could more effectively shout "patriotic" epithets at passersby. My coffee cup was up there too, and at one point he crouched down and picked it up, raising it toward his lips. I immediately said, "You'd better put my coffee down right now, boy." Calling him "boy" was the closest I'd come to insulting him so far. He said, "But wouldn't Jesus share his coffee with me? Don't you ever ask, 'What would Jesus do?'" I responded, "I never claimed to be as nice as Jesus. You are going to put my coffee down right now."

Fortunately, his self-preservation instinct kicked in, and he put it down. I'm serious about my coffee, baby. I don't have a cup that says "Give me coffee or give me death" for nothing.

We willingly did so, and I am happy to say that we came out if it looking very good by comparison as well as the fact that we literally got "equal time" with our ten people to their 400-600.

Yeah, we've gotten equal coverage up here with two people versus 60, and 1 person versus 25. Ninety percent of life is showing up, as Woody Allen said.

You can say that again! Most of the men around here are not men at all, but what Dr. Laura Schlesinger calls "males of the species", running around with grunge rock sneers, ratty clothing... and more than 50% of the women are even worse - multiple garish tattoos, facial piercings, dirty rat's nest multicolour hairdos, psychotic personality disorders, and 10% to 25% overweight...

I lost interest in "local" girls a few years ago.
