And in the UK, a doctor has performed a late-term abortion based on the diagnosis that the child was afflicted with a "serious disability"...which happened to be a cleft-palate.

Shall we euthanize our Alzheimer's patients, those who suffer from any degenerative disease? When is too early in the process? If I could determine that my child carried a genetic predisposition that would render him "handicapped" in our culture, should I abort? What if, instead of a cleft-palate or a degenerative disease I decided that being gay would handicap that child?

Yes, I read about this - cleft-palate.

yes, Alzheimer's could be another candidate for medical murder. It's scary because the slippery slope will happen just as it has with abortion - that too was supposed to be rare - forget the fact that you are murdering an unborn person or one about to be born.

Ah, but with the "gay" community (LOL) they've already determined that it will have a "gay" gene and that a law needs to be in place that NO abortion can happen there. There is NO "gay gene" but let's humor that - should abortions ONLY apply to straight people?

It is very important that Terri's situation NOT be allowed to happen - putting her down like an imperfect animal. The ramifications are HUGE.

Critics: Gay-gene bill about politics, not rights (abortion fears on fetus sexual orientation)

AUGUSTA — A conservative lawmaker is again drawing criticism for a bill he says is about gay rights but some of his colleagues say is about political posturing. State Rep. Brian Duprey, R-Hampden, wants the Legislature to forbid a woman from ending a pregnancy based on the projected sexual orientation of a fetus. He said the bill looks into the future in case scientists find what he described as a "homosexual gene."

"I have heard from women who told me that if they found out that they were carrying a child with the gay gene, then they would abort. I think this is wrong," said Duprey, who got the idea while listening to The Rush Limbaugh Show.
