What? No, not violence in wonderfully utopian and liberal Berkley.

It's indeed horrifying. And, strangely, it has happened in the most quiet, upscale section of Berkeley, the most safe part of that city.

Euclid Avenue, where it runs between the Rose Garden and Codornices Park. It is one of the most spectacularly beautiful urban scenes in the world, with panoramic views of San Francisco, the Bay...Well, whaddya' know...I used to live right there, next to the Rose Garden.

Because of the Supreme Court's recent ruling, this human monster will never face the death penalty. Wouldn't have anyway. No state is allowed to administer capital punishment for attempted murder.

My brother lives right near there. It is normally a very quiet, nice neighborhood, and this doesn't sound like an "underclass" crime. More likely a couple of bored, thrill-seeking, upper middle class teenagers. I remember a lot of this kind of stuff in the Seventies - it always turned out to be white kids with wealthy (and extremely liberal) parents.

Not surprising though, criminals know that no one there owns a gun or will put up much of a fight.

Lucky for you, you got out before any permanent damage could occur.

Yeah, but her criminal status entitles her to exercise her right to life, which another Florida woman doesn't get. I'm sure that no liberal judge will call this teenage criminal "the moral equivalent of a carrot;" after all, offending the self-esteem of a criminal is an unspeakable travesty. Heck, even al-Qaida terrorists (oops, I should say, "political refugees and freedom fighters," where "freedom" of course entails "freedom to commit genocide") and illegal aliens get such entitlements and privileges like life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness at the expense of us taxpaying citizens, who can be declared vegetables and ordered to die of thirst on mere hearsay.
And no, this isn't sarcasm; it's an unfortunate reality in our bizarre world of liberalism.

This is thy concealed carry, legal or not is an absolute necessity.
The two should have been shot deal as soon as the situation became a clear case of assault.
I would have dropped both the goblins (to make sure they didn't attack me while I was trying to save my wife's life) and then rendered aid.
The laws have to change. Anyone commiting an unprovoked act of violence that causes harm to an innocent should forfeit their life.

Oh yeah, sure. Just walking along, minding my own business and BAM... somebody grabs me and cuts my throat from ear to ear then drives off and I survive because they missed the protruding veins in my neck.
The BS meter is strained on this one, big time.

I would have dropped both the goblins (to make sure they didn't attack me while I was trying to save my wife's life) and then rendered aid. They probably couldn't have charged you for killing your attackers, as it was obviously self defense, but they still probably would have charged you with illegal posession of a firearm, and discharging a firearm within the city limits.

Thats why I would NEVER live in California.
Self defense is a human right, I'm not going to live where the animals have more rights than men.
