We're willing to spend billions to save an endangered toad in California. Terri Schiavo is just too useless to justify even a modest expenditure of public funds. We do have our national priorities in order.

...Or a convicted killer. When was the last time the NYT complained about another round of appeals for some death row scum? Perhaps someone would say that Mrs. Schiavo confessed to an unsolved killing. The legal maneuvers around that would keep her alive indefinitely.

The left seems to believe that a "just society" executes the helpless and innocent, while protecting the vicious and guilty.
