So why doesn't GWB call them back into session right now?

Any freepers planning on being at the hospice? Looks like only a few people are there now.

Let's not jump to conclusions. I don't know. I do see a very intense effort on the part of House Republicans to save Terri Schiavo. Let's be thankful for that.

I have Lupus and am worried about what my future may hold. My family and doctors know that I consider nutrition, fluids and antibiotics necessities and not extraordinary means.

Are House Republicans working on this Saturday, or have they already scattered across the country?

kalee: You're absolutely correct. This means that no one's life is worth anything, even Michael Schaivo and Judge Greers.

Ironic, isn't it that in FL today they find the body of the girl murdered by the maniac. The maniac will have more protections than Terri Schiavo.

These other guys know exactly how you feel, Michael.

IV's would provide hydration, so they won't be used.
My stepfather was given injections and suppositories. Hospice told my mother that IV's interfered with the efficacy of the pain meds.
If you read earlier my posts, you can see what my family experieced with a FL hospice, it is too painful for me to keep typing it.

You don't know what the hell your talking about. The Florida Legislature and the Governor moved to protect this woman with Terrie's Law, but liberal judges have overturned everything. The state is made up of "we the people", but there are a handful of judges deciding all over the country we is best for "we the people". What shocks me even more is that they do it without comment.

They don't dare comment.

It's a meaningless law...some liberal judge will call it unconstitutional.

"by the same bunch of people who organize candle light vigils for people on Death Row."

I understand the judge is a Republican. Probably won't see him out there with a candle.

"If the GOP backs down on this they're going to look like they only got involved for publicity."

Sad to say, by taking 15years to get inovovled the already look that way.

MSNBC is asking another Terri related question of the day: Should Terri Schiavo be placed back on a feeding tube? The viewing audience is obviously swayed toward killing her, so we need to step up to the plate and try to get the numbers changed, so they know how much support TERRI has, not her husband. Please go to http://question.msnbc.com and vote that she should be kept alive. Leave comments so maybe they will read them on the air.

"If Delay means what he says, and I think he might, then US Marshals should be draging these A$$holes back to Washington in leg irons."

Are you trying to give credence to the Dem charges that Bush and Republicans are fascists Nazi's?

This is Steve's first message: "I just got off the phone with the Judiciary Committee. Sensenbrenner has cancelled his trip to Australia and all leadership hands (House & Senate) are on deck at the capitol right now. We have little faith that Florida will get a solution and we disagree across the rotunda on what version works. I am hopeful that a solution will be reached tonight and I expect that we will come back to town on Monday for a vote on a private bill for Terri Schiavo.

The Florida district judge that ordered her tubes removed must take a serious fall. He is in contempt of Congress and will likely find himself delivered here by the Department of Justice. I see this as the call of the trumpet to jerk the judges back to their Constitutional authority and reestablish the power of the legislative branch."

We KNOW that good men (and probably women) are giving up vacation time to be on top of this. I've been hysterical about this issue, too, but I have the knowledge of knowing and trusting someone such as Congressman King. This issue is in the hands of good men. They have their imperfections and are capable of erring but for now, I am willing to trust their judgment. Let's pray for them.

As a matter of fact, I'll post a message I just got from Steve about a request for prayer:

"The more responsibility I have, the more I'm at peace. I believe it's because there are more prayers on my behalf.

I ask for prayer that gives great thanks to Our Savior for the gift of JOY for serving him, for the measure of His wisdom that each of us need to serve Him, for Terri Schiavo, for all who pray for life, for a resolution on the side of life, for the miracle of speech or communication for Terri, for a softening of the hearts of the enemies of life, for my mother, and for all who have been blessed far less than me. Bless you,"

I wasn't going to post this but we need to calm nerves.

This always gets back to the same thing.

As Rush has repeatedly pointed out - these kinds of things should be decided by the elected representatives of the people who are at least somewhat responsive to public pressure - not by appointed judges.

Both the FL legislature and the US Congress have tried to save this woman's life at least until she can be given therapy - her husband's involvement in what brought her here in the first place can be determined etc.

But no - judicial activists with agendas have issued fiats and that's supposed to be that.

If the plug is to be pulled at least let it be done by people who love her - her parents - and not by the person who stands to gain the most by her death and who, although he's been too smart to be interviewed this time, radiated anger, arrogance, and yes, hate in interviews when this all came up a couple of years ago.
