To: Dog Gone
Suddenly I get there. My wife can't find the living will, although she knows what I want. My parents argue about it. Is that what you want?

Suppose Bill Gates sends me a check for $10,000, but my wife misplaces it. Should I be able to go to my bank and tell them that Bill Gates wrote me a check for $10,000 so they should just give me the money? If not, are you trying to imply that you want me to be cheated out of $10,000 that Bill Gates signed over to me?

That analogy fails on several levels. I'm sure you have a good point, but you'll have to make a better example for me to discern it.
