Burning Cow Dung Starts Colorado Wildfire
27 minutes ago Strange News - AP
LONGMONT, Colo. - Authorities are investigating whether Forest Service workers can be charged with arson for a 900-acre wildfire that was ignited after gusty winds carried flaming cow dung outside a controlled burn site.
Weld County District Attorney Ken Buck said he received several complaints from farmers and ranchers in the Pawnee National Grassland area, where the Forest Service was conducting a controlled burn of prairie weeds March 11.
Callers complained the fire shouldn't have been set because of high winds, and that the fire endangered farm property.
The sheriff's office this week agreed to investigate. District Ranger Steve Currey said Forest Service officials also are investigating.
Currey said the Forest Service will have to replace 14 power poles and a fence damaged in the fire.
Someone told us it would get us high.
We were misinformed.
Holy flying crap!

If you want on the list, FReepmail me. This IS a high-volume PING list...
I hate it when that happens.
who lit churchhill on fire?
Not too smart burning with the wind gusting.
I once got a pretty good field fire going, the local paper had a picture of this 40 acre blackened field with fire trucks out in the middle.
Caption was `Example of careless burning`
Cured me.
Ten posts and no reference to Senator "Dungheap" Harkin
Got me. LOL!
GO FOR IT! 8^)
Were did you get camel dung?
Spencer's Gifts at the mall.
Good shit.
Once again proving that the U.S. Forest Service is full of morons. I hope they sue them for their houses and their pensions.
WRONG! Us taxpayers will have to pay them to replace the power poles and fence.
Let me tell you folks a few things about our local Forest Circus here in Pawnee National Grasslands. I was driving through Ault, Colorado on the way home the 11th. The wind was howling, and there at the gas station were all these Forest Circus fire fighters. They looked tired and dirty, with their 4x4 fire trucks, and mostly just stood around bullsh**ing. Now I know why.
It was way too windy to burn anything. Pawnee National Grassland is for one purpose only, to drive by on the highway and look at it. Multiple use is extreemly limited, and they have all kinds of Forest Circus rangers patrolling the place. Except when they are all at the gas station bullsh**ing.
He left his stash out on the table and the big mother ate it.
Had to follow him around with a garbage bag for three days, man...
