What a bunch of liberal BS.

When I read the headline I thought it was going to be about doing bad things with appliances!

I don't buy this for a second. Prudes are just as likely to have STD's as sluts? No way.

So, are we to believe that if teens do not chose abstinence, that they will be LESS LIKELY to engage in risky sex acts?
Un'friggin beliveable...

What about those who pledged chastity?
To: ken5050
LOL. That too. And totally understandable when one considers where the people suggesting this have their heads placed.

don't know about that.....read another study awhile back that said the same thing.....the stats don't bear out why this occurs.....just like when I was young and told my parents I wouldn't go out and drink.......right???? and I grew up in a very Christian home but when you're young peers, hormones, whatever pull you in alot of different directions........don't put much faith though in any casual relationship

The report by Yale and Columbia University researchers could help explain their earlier findings that teens who pledged abstinence are just as likely to have STDs as their peers. Pledging abstinence isn't the same as remaining abstinent.
Signing some sort of silly abstinence pledge does nothing to actually prevent kids from having sex, IMO.

I don't want to start a flame war, but expecting a human being to be 100% chaste until they're married is getting a little unreasonable.
Consider the average age for marriage is now 26 or so.
