For the first time since he took office, Prime Minister Ariel Sharon has been invited to visit with President George Bush at his Crawford, Texas ranch.
According to Israel Radio, the decision to change the location of the meeting from the White House to the Bush ranch was intended to show back the peace process and to express support for the prime minister

This is good to see. Trust building at the highest levels must continue on unabated. The positive momentum is very encouraging.

Is Israel still going to hold up the peace process unless we release their spy?

I love it when he has these foreigners to the ranch. Especially the Saudis in the pickup truck. LOL Sharon has a farm though so no biggy for him. Could you imagine some of those Euroweenies at the ranch?

Yes. The Italians were 10 times more upset with Calipari's death than Israel is with the capture of the spy.

Let's hope this results in less Israeli spying.

I know an Israeli guy who a few months ago went to New Zealand on a visa hop from Australia. At the customs desk in Auckland he was waylaid by the customs officers. He was asked a few questions and his baggage was inspected. One of the customs officers said to him that,
"A lot of people in New Zealand thought all Israelis were either drug dealers or spies."
Very cheeky those Kiwis...

There was a thread earlier today from the Jerusalem Post that said the Israeli Knesset had voted not to release any Palestinian prisoners unless America first freed Jonathan Pollard, the convicted Israeli spy serving a life sentence here for spying on the US.

Couldn't find thread here or on Google, sounds like bull.
Here's latest I found:
"J4JP notes that at the same time that he was pleading on behalf of a drug dealer, the Ambassador could easily have handed Secretary Rice a copy of the Knesset Petition for Jonathan Pollard signed by 112 Members of Knesset more than a year ago, but did not. The Knesset petition, sabotaged by Prime Minister Sharon (even though he himself signed it) has never left Israel, and never been delivered to its addressee, President George W. Bush. This latest snub of Pollard by the Ambassador is yet another signal to the Americans that the fate of Israel's agent, Jonathan Pollard, is of no consequence to the current government of Israel." http://jonathanpollard.org/2005/030305.htm

Do you remember if the Prime Minister of Japan has been to the ranch at all?
I don't think so, but it would be fun to get pictures of that. He giggles like a school girl when he's around President Bush.
He would have the best time.

"Doggone it", you're right, and I still don't believe it!
I don't see any evidence so far however, that the Israeli Gov't led by "Tractor" Sharon will be bound by this Knesset resolution anymore than previous ones they've passed in support of spy Pollard.
Pollard was a U.S. citizen so they should stick their noses out of this one. If not, GWB may have to take a page out of his Dad's book, and remind the Israelis that cowboy boots are pointed to kick ass.
Thanks for the reply and link.

I don't know much about the Knesset rules. If it's not binding on Sharon, then it's no big deal.
