Wonder if he'll get shanked or live long enough to die of AIDS from other involuntary extracurricular activities.

Good. Too bad we get to pay his room and board for 20 years until his appeals run out. Little Connor would have been a sophomore in college by the time his killer is put to death.

I feel it will be a lot longer than that. He is #644 on death row. Even if they did two a month, that would take over 27 years and CA hasn't executed anyone in a long time. Nope, this POS will die of old age in prison. Assuming of course, jailhouse vigilanteism doesn't take over first. The sooner the better.

Ironically, this death sentence will extend this man's life by a great many years. If he was in the general population I would guess that he would last about as long as Jeffery Daimer did.

Wonder if he'll get shanked ?

I have never been there, so it is just a guess, but getting shanked on death row, I believe, is far less likely then if he was in the general population.

I got that beat....I dated a wonderful woman who's brother back in the 80s went on a drug binge and killed his girlfriend.......she visits him every other Sat on death row at San Quentin and she says it is a terrible place and pretty damned scary to boot....I live only about 30 miles from it and used to go in the back for trucking matters when I was an account exec for Viking Frt.....it wasn't even the main prison but they would go all over your car and then you would have to wear a special color so if there was shooting, the quards would know you were not a convict.

Hey Scotty, looking back on it now don't you think divorce would have been a hell of a lot easier?

Is Peterson Safe in San Quentin?

Mar 17, 2005 1:12 pm US/Pacific
(CBS 5) County jail is no picnic, but it won’t take a long for Scott Peterson to wish he had never left.

When Peterson entered San Quenitn State Prison on Thursday, he was walking in to the most dangerous spot in the state.

He’ll spend the rest of his life surrounded by the worst murderers in California. Some have killed more people than Peterson, and there is no guarantee that they won’t try to kill him.

“There may be some young men on death row who will see this as an opportunity to gain a reputation by saying ‘I attacked Scott Peterson,’” said prison spokesman Vernell Crittendon.

Peterson will be housed in the prison’s death row adjustment center. That facility houses new inmates as well as targets of violence and the most dangerous killers. Night Stalker Richard Ramirez sleeps in the center, as well as Polly Klass’ killer Richard Allen Davis. Some say Peterson will be an equally attractive target.

“He’s well aware that any inmate…will take a chance to kill him,” said death row officer Lt. Michael Barker.

For now, Peterson will have minimal interaction with other inmates. For 20 minutes each day, Peterson will be allowed to exercise by himself in an outside cage. He’ll spend the rest of the day confined to a cell with access to a radio and TV. He will take all of his meals alone in his private cell.

Eventually, Peterson may be assigned to a wing at San Quentin. But wherever he is, he’ll always be forced to watch his back.

Jeffrey Dahmer was also on death row. Someone got to him while cleaning out a shower. Mop handle through the eye if I recall correctly. Scotty deserves the same auspicious ending.

Did not Dahlmer get accidentally put in the general population just prior to his death.

BTW I cannot rejoice over jailhouse killings. To me, it just isn't right for vigilantes in jail for doing what they do would bring anyone pleasure. Peterson had his day, it should not take 20 years to execute him but we should settle for no less that the carrying out of his sentence by lawful means.

"Jeffrey Dahmer was also on death row. Someone got to him while cleaning out a shower. Mop handle through the eye if I recall correctly".

I met a man who had worked in law enforcement in California for years and knew the so called 'inside dope' on Dahmer's demise. I don't know how true this is but he told me that handle 'came out' his eye. It went in elsewhere.
