I read with consternation and dismay the account of your students' anti-war ambush on Nadine Gulit and the guest speakers she provided. I must say, this is one of the most egregious examples of modern academic abuse of which I am aware. The shock and revulsion I feel when I read of how these honorable members of our country's military were bombarded by inflammatory and hateful vitriol from the very citizens they have pledged their lives to protect, is beyond description.
The very fact that these students have the right to protest the war without the threat of death is testament to either their extreme ignorance or disengenuousness with regard to the country in which they live. What does WSHS teach students about the United States of America, anyway? Have you become nothing more than another training camp for rabid, America-hating terrorists? All that appear to be missing are the AK-47s and the school Mullah.
Perhaps such sickening, though protected, activities are best left for the students' own time, rather than taxpayer-funded academic time in a likewise funded building.
