Ms Short said President George Bushs decision to put forward his Deputy Defence Secretary for the post was like showing two fingers to the world.
Which two fingers is she talking about?

Ms Short said President George Bushs decision to put forward his Deputy Defence Secretary for the post was like showing two fingers to the world. It certainly is. Most of the rest of the world deserves it too, and I couldn't be happier.

She said it also sent a message to the G8: It says America is going to do what it likes or hard cheese. At least she understands W.

In the UK, one flips the bird with the middle and index finger, not just the middle finger.

you know I'd bet Ms. Short would have been ragging on the Americans about the German occupation, what an idiot

Translation:
If President Bush's nominee is confirmed in the post and succeeds in turning the World Bank into a true development bank, with accountability and real progress, there will be no excuses available to the Liberals as to why they never thought of fixing it.
In other words, they want to stop Bush before he makes them appear even less credible than they already do.

In the Brit method, the "v" made by the index and middle fingers is pointed so that the fingernails face the person who is being, uh, well, "dissed." "Pluck Yew"
