Speaking of celebrities and Bruce Springsteen -- the other day I had the pleasure of meeting Meat Loaf, of "Bat out of Hell" fame and "Eddie" in the cult movie "Rocky Horror Picture Show." We talked politics briefly, and he said he was bummed to learn that his kids had voted for Democrats: "All the Democrats want to do is raise taxes," he said, then lamented Springsteen's political rantings, saying Bruce should just pay for everybody's taxes if he was all that fired-up about "paying his fair share."
Meat, as he is called, was an absolutely WONDERFUL man. Great sense of humor, not a tattoo on him that I could see, no earrings, no ponytail -- no "gimmicks," in other words. Just a very cool guy. Springsteen should take lessons from him.
Thanks for sharing that!
That is so funny - I have run into him on two different occasions, both at Chicago-O'Hare, but several years apart. He was a very nice person; asked me about my laptop computer the first time I met him, and actually remembered meeting me when we ran into each other again a couple of years later.
His name is ROBERT PAULSON!
