She said she wanted her dad to know that she loved him very much. Also, she was curious where he had been for the past 13 years. (I kid you not.)

Or marry the baby's mother? Or get a job and lead a respectable life as role model to that child? And, oh yes, how 'bout not raping a hostage in the first place?

So much for the "good guy" having a bad moment theory.I don't know anyone here who believes that. But you had to bring it up.

Nichols' daughter hasn't heard from him in years By MIKE MORRIS
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Published on: 03/15/05
The 13-year-old daughter of accused courthouse killer Brian Nichols said she was "in a state of shock" when she learned Friday that her father was the subject of a manhunt in Atlanta.
Jasmine Jay, who appeared Tuesday with her mother on ABC's "Good Morning America," said her mother came to her school Friday to tell her about her father.
The morning news and entertainment program showed home video of Nichols feeding his infant daughter in December 1992.
"I want to let him know that I still love him, because he is my father," Jasmine said. "And I just want to ask him, why hasn't he been in contact with me all these years. I want to know, do I have any half-brothers and sisters by him."
Jasmine's mother, Stephanie Jay, said she met the "very charming" Nichols in college at Kutztown University in Pennsylvania.
"He was very funny; he liked to play jokes on people," she said. "He was very nice to me, the time we were together."
Asked by Diane Sawyer what Nichols most wanted for his life, Stephanie Jay said, "play football, go to college, make something of himself."
She said she and Nichols broke up when Jasmine was 1 year old.
"He came to see her when she was 2, and I remember them playing out in the yard," she said.
Stephanie Jay, of Allentown, Pa., said it was "very hard" for Jasmine to go on national television Tuesday, but said Jasmine "wants to get a message to her dad."
Nichols, 33, is a suspect in four shooting deaths, including a judge and a federal customs agent.

Funny that in his 7 hours with Ashley Smith he never once mentioned it. Nor did his previous attorney ever mention it.

A police officer who lives near me used to play high school basketball with Nichols ( in Pennsylvania I believe) and he was on the news this afternoon, recalling his memories of Nichols as a teenager. He said that Nichols was extremely high-strung and violent, pointing out an incident where Nichols got into a fight after a ball game and knocked out his opponent with one hit, then had to be pulled off the guy.
Yep, sounds like a fine, outstanding citizen to me. Do I even have to put a sarcasm notice here?

Maybe the dope, the cooler full of beer and food, and the machine gun, and the duct tape were his idea of a romantic reconciliationROFL
I would have included a couple of early 'Three Stooges' shorts to watch to seal the deal.

his teenage (I think) daughter as on TV last night, saying she wanted to see her daddy.
Folks are just coming out of the woodwork for 10 minutes of fame on this case. It's tawdry TV.

Hung jury. Too bad it was only a hung jury, instead of a hanging jury.
