Although the Senate vote on Wednesday was a major step forward for supporters of drilling in ANWR, it remains unclear if the measure will win the full support of Congress. The Senate is expected to vote on its budget bill later this week. The House of Representatives, which has approved drilling in the refuge in the past, would still have to adopt the Senate's drilling language when lawmakers from both chambers negotiate a final budget bill. However, House Republicans have cautioned that it will be difficult for both chambers to negotiate an overall budget deal this year.

Translation: We're still a looooooong way from seeing this become reality. This is a first step, not a total victory.

Who says the new Republicans in the Senate don't mean anything?

Oh, the weeping and gnashing of teeth! The liberals and Greenie Weenies will know no peace.
I love it, the DUmmies at Democratic Underground are whining like a bad water pump bearing in a 1965 Ford Galaxie. So to them, I'll offer them a nice, cold glass of:
to drown their sorrows in.

Coleman has been a big disappointment. He came out and called for Rumsfeld to resign before even reading the full statement about the uparmor and the army we have.
Now this......ugh!

ANWAR YES!
There are oil pumps up and down the countryside running 365-24-7 from Pennsy to Cali with no environmental destruction.
Next stop Santa Monica, California.
But wait...I assume a judge will bar drilling because its unconstitutional.

Another interesting fact.
Haven't all the fields in production there far exceeded there initial predictions? Some i believe are passing the 50% level.

Nail on the head.
Every field we've developed has far exceeded initial predictions.

- President Clinton approves legislation lifting a 22-year-old ban on exports of oil from the Alaskan North Slope (ANS). The ban was imposed after the oil embargo by Arab oil producers in 1973. The lifting of the ban opens up about one-quarter of U.S. crude oil production for export. The ANS legislation also waives royalty payments on deep water oil and gas leases in the Gulf of Mexico. McCain is the reverse Zell Miller, he just won't admit it.
To: Republican Red
Ok - Remember McCain voted with the Democrats against our drilling for oil in Anwar.
Apparently, McCain is grooming himself for a vice-presidential slot on the democrat side of the aisle.
I will not forget this McCain. You are not to be trusted now or ever.

Every field we've developed has far exceeded initial predictions. The developer has to go with the conservative estimate. Anything beyond that is gravy. It is business.
