I never think of the Three-fifths Compromise as an insult to black Americans...it does not state that black people are only 3/5th human...what it states is that every black resident/slave, who at the time was not counted as a citizen, would be counted as 3/5th of a citizen/resident for purposes of representation in the House of Representatives...twisting the intent of the law always sounds so self righteous...slavery itself was evil...no need to exagerate...it's overkill.
