Polls show Russians mostly dislike perestroika (half witted Socialist "reforms")

Not a problem, you can find him in Cali or on one of his lecture trips around US ($1,000/plate to hear an old, unrepentant and failed socialst speak...hay a lot like Carter these days).

You can find Krushchov's son and Stalin's daughter here too in the US. I guess they didn't feel welcome in Russia anymore. Go figure.

Not to mention that thanks to Gorbachov's stupidity there was war between Armenians & Azerbajanies, Georgians and Ossessians, Georgians and Abhazians, Moldovians and Tridneister Russians & Ukrainains, war in Uzebekistan, war in Tajdikistan, war between the Ossessians and the Ingushi, war between Moscow and Chechins and Jihadies running rampant everywhere.

When people complain it destroyed the USSR, they're not complaining about the screwed up Soviet Economy or Soviet Government... They're complaining about the national integrity.

The problem is that Russia's national integrity was bought at the expense of all her conquered Soviet slaves. Russians may lament the downfall of the Soviet Union, as Putin has, but those nations which broke free from the genocidal Soviet empire don't really care so much about Russian national integrity, and neither does the rest of the world.

Glorifying the Communist machine that slaughtered millions of Russians is not the right way to go about instilling Russians with patriotic zeal. It is a good way to try to justify communist crimes against Russia and the world and try to paint anyone who disagrees as a nazi.

I don't champion Gorbachev. He is a communist murderer who tried to save communism, but he failed. His stupid liberalism helped cause the collapse of the Soviet Empire, and this was a good thing for Russia as well as for her former vassals and the rest of the world. A true Russian patriot would be happy that the stupid Gorby ineptly helped destroy his own evil empire. A communist would not be so happy about it though.

Here's a news flash: first, all citizens were soviet slaves. Second, Russians, with 55% of the population were never allowed more then 3 of 12 Politburo seats. Third, Georgia, Armenia, Baltics, Central Asia got the lions share of the resources. Every family in Tbilisi had a car, 1 in 100 in Russia/Ukraine/Belaruss. Stew on that.
