And it should. This practice of bowing down or pacification every time the "race card" is played is ridiculous.
I grew up in a poor neighborhood, with lousy schools and a pretty bleak future. I decided to change that and worked hard. I could not afford to go to college so I took a job in a computer company (as a delivery person) and taught myself how to program! I then slowly moved up. There were a lot of lean years but I made it. Never once did I blame my past when things got rough.
Of course, since I am white, it was easy, all the corporate doors opened up and "the man" welcome me with open arms while shoving boatloads of money at me. Ah, the power of being **white**.
