ITHACA -- Two events on Saturday, March 19, will mark two years of U.S. involvement in Iraq.

An all-day peace vigil -- the Vigil-a-thon -- is planned with the theme "Another world is possible." Members of the group Ithaca Peace Vigil, which has a regular vigil every Wednesday morning, hope the Vigil-a-thon will be an easy way for people to show their concern and remembrance. The event is set for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the intersection of Clinton Street and Route 13.

The second event is a peace march to begin in Washington Park at noon. It will travel west to Route 13 and then turn back up toward The Ithaca Commons. The coalition of faith-based, and secular groups sponsoring the march are assembling banners and costumes.

Kid (and based on your message and the fact you have a school aged sister I assume you are one), I've been around Ithaca long enough to know that, for all the talk of individuality and social activism, you guys follow your leaders at Cornell, in the Ithaca School District and elsewhere more blindly than any republican I've ever seen.

You have double digit tax increses locally each year because your leaders tell you they need more money and you blindly agree.

You sit around talking about intolerant republicans (but have probably never even met one), while bashing the kids from Newfield and other rural suburbs.

Ithacans are some of the biggest sheep I've ever met in my life and, hopefully, once you grow up, move away from the indoctrination centers at ACS and elsewhere, you'll see that.

Unfortunately,you probably won't.

Wow... that IS scary. I live in California, near Sacramento-- I'm glad that I'm even THAT far away. It sounds like... well, to be honest, it sounds like a horrible place, especially to live. I have a few questions, though: first, why would they even ALLOW the so-called "Gay Flag"? And why in the world do they have a gay flag in the first place?

I can see COMPLETELY why you call it the City of Evil. I'm going up there to visit a relative in Syracuse, but we were planning to stay in Ithaca. Now... nope, not on your life. Thanks a lot!
