14.6 billion dollars, The tunnels been open for about a year and a half and now they can't even vouch for it's safety? Jeez...I hope heads will roll over this. I drove thru the new tunnel the night it opened and wondered what the puddles were doing 1/2 mile inside the tunnel! A few months ago I drove thru and saw a blast of water gushing out of the wall and this is just groundwater. It makes me a little nervous when I drive thru the new Harbor tunnel towards the airport. What a MASSIVE boondoggle!

Why does the governor of a state have to ask the court if he has the power to fire the guy? I don't get it...if he's incompetent, he's endangering the saftey of the people of Mass.. fire his ass, then let him sue...why do we let the judges run the place?

I don't get it...This is Massachusetts which has had more republican governors than 'rat ones. The 'rat legislature thus has done several things to deal out the governor on transportation oversight, running the State Lottery, and appointing interim Senators.

Great minds think alike, Romney should fire him immediately!
Let the Democrats via the judges re-instate him if they think they can.
I have my own "conspiracy" theory on this. The homosexual lobby looked the other way on the Big Dig, those taking kickbacks from the Big Dig in this "Commonwealth" went along with gay marriage quid pro quo.
I think those in Iraq & Lebanon know more about Democracy than most here in Mass.

I lived in Boston for 7 years, I moved to Michigan 13 years ago. I lived in the suburban south (Canton, Stoughton). I found it far easier to go to Providence to fly, or to the 128 train station for Amtrack to NYC, than to fly from Logan.
I darn neared got killed one day stopping on the side of the road to fix the hood on a rental car, only to discover the the Bostonians actually drive in the break-down lane.
I don't miss Boston at all.

And the same left wing nuts think government can do a better job with your social security money than YOU, and for evidence of their competence, just look at the big dig...

Romney has little to no power in this state. Everything in MA state politics works bassackwards. The entire state is run by the Dem. controlled legislature. I have lived in New England for 17 years now. For as long as I can remember, MA has had a Rep. governor. The Dems. allowed this to happen because they knew this day was coming. They can now point fingers and say all those Rep. governors in charge throughout the Big Dig era allowed this to happen. In reality, any changes that a Rep. governor have tried to institute are (generally) immediately overturned by the Dem. controlled legislature.

Thanks..I understand that..but still, wouldn't it make more sense for Mitt to make a pre-emtive strike, and fire him..them leave the Dems to explain why he can't..?

You know, If I lived in Boston, Massachusetts, and had to live thru the 20 something years it took to build this fawlty tunnel, and had to help pay for the 14 billion dollars , and then had to ride thru the same tunnel daily....with water and sediment leaking in...I would leave the state.
Amorello's newest engineer, however, defended the safety of the tunnel.
"I don't think there's ... frankly, I think the tunnel is quite safe," engineer John Christian said.
Well "frankly" John, you do not inspire much confidence....who cares what you think..we want you to KNOW THE TUNNEL IS SAFE.

I think Romney needs to do to Mass what Bush did to Iraq, tip over the apple cart. This state can't be fixed in small steps.
First thing he should do is request a Federal investigation under the RICO ACT concerning every penny that went into the Big Dig. This should include specifically members of the Legislature.
Then he ought to INVITE a Constitutional crisis by arresting the SJC. They stepped over their their authority on Gay Marriage citing Canadian Law and & ought to be jailed for it. He could cite some tribal law to justify his actions.
They also usurpt the will of the people who passed a death penalty Constitutional Amendment here in Mass in 1882 calling it unconstitutional, what you asked? Yep they called the Mass Constitution unconstitutional.
It should also go back to investigate how Teddy K got away with drowning a staffer.
Could all this happen without organized criminal behavior?
This is the most corrupt & morally bankrupt state in the Union.

Boy, you'd almost think was built in a Communist state.
Oh wait...

Not only that, but apparently, the professional designers and engineers who earned big bucks designing and building the Bunker Hill Zakim Billy Buckner Bridge that connects Chucktown to the mainland never considered that---now I know this is a stretch---it might snow in Boston, and that snow might be a tad wet, and that wet snow might freeze if the temperature dips below 32 degrees, and that the frozen snow might melt once the temperature rises above 32 degrees. Who'd a thunk? Certainly the people whose cars have been hit & windshields have been shattered by chunks of falling ice and snow from the cables. But not the engineers. What a bunch of effing frauds!

This rivals Oil For Food, and makes any Halliburton overcharges, if there are any, look like a tempest in a teacup.
Question for the MSM: Where's the coverage?

I don't get it...if he's incompetent, he's endangering the saftey of the people of Mass.. fire his ass, then let him sue...why do we let the judges run the place? The Massachusetts Turnpike Authority is a quasi-governmental body. It reports to a board of directors, of which Fat Matt is one. It does not report to the governor of the Commonwealth.

Thanks..I understand that..but still, wouldn't it make more sense for Mitt to make a pre-emtive strike, and fire him..them leave the Dems to explain why he can't..? Mitt explained that on Howie Carr's show last night: apparently, if he tried that, Fat Matt could slap some sort of injunction, preventing the firing from taking effect, and send the whole thing into court, which would take years to resolve. Mitt thinks that doing things this wall will lead to FM's ouster more quickly.

What do you expect? You give open ended government funding to a blue state inititiative.. of course its going to go over budget, be built sub standard and wind up a mess.
To: ken5050
Romney is a pussy. Reagan would have locked the doors
the next morning.
Romney does not care about the citizens (just like the rest of the corrupt Massachusetts Democratic-Bulgerized hive).
