The criminals know that Marylanders are effectively disarmed, many have left VA for the safer (for them) work environment afforded them by MD's DemocRAT pols.
If you can find a VA hotel for the same or comparable rate, take it.

What is your opinion of staying in Silver Spring? I've got friends that live up there. It seems to be a nice area, but in my view it would be a hassle to make it from there to downtown for the rally. But honestly, a Maryland FReeper up near that area would likely provide a more informed opinion. Good luck!
