As far as I know, a one time contribution has no impact on monthly donations.
On the secure form there is a box to check for "1 time" contribution and you write in what the contribution is for.
My monthly is set up on my Master Card and is automatic. I was just afraid that a one time would be consrued by the system as a change and delete my monthly.
