He brought with him his wife, Felipa, and three children, 19, 12 and 8 all illegals. When Felipa gave birth to her fourth child, daughter Flor, the family had what is referred to as an "anchor baby" an American citizen by birth who provided the entire Silverio clan a ticket to remain in the U.S. permanentlyOf course all I'm going to hear from the Hugh Hewitt Open Borders Apologists Club (HHOBAC) is how the Presidents amnesty plan is compassionate and good for America because these people do the jobs that Americans don't want to do and how that head of lettuce will skyrocket if we started doing interior enforcement. Lets ignore the fact that there is no free lunch, and that if we don't pay a little more for goods/services, well pay it to the government to redistribute to people who entered the country illegally. Then of course theres the other costs involved, the impact on infrastructure, the closing of hospitals, the overcrowded schools, the non-assimilation, etc. etc. etc. I don't know how many more times I have to drive this point home, but illegal immigration costs vastly outstrip the benefits.
But Flor was born premature, spent three months in the neonatal incubator and cost the San Joaquin Hospital more than $300,000. Meanwhile, oldest daughter Lourdes married an illegal alien gave birth to a daughter, too. Her name is Esmeralda. And Felipa had yet another child, Cristian.
The two Silverio anchor babies generate $1,000 per month in public welfare funding for the family. Flor gets $600 a month for asthma. Healthy Cristian gets $400. While the Silverios earned $18,000 last year picking fruit, they picked up another $12,000 for their two "anchor babies."
Of course the usual suspects fully encourage the practice of Anchor Babies:
Among the organizations directing illegal aliens into America's medical systems, according to the report, are the Ford Foundation-funded Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund, the National Immigration Law Center, the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the American Bar Association's Commission on Immigration Policy, Practice, and Pro Bono, the Immigrant Legal Resource Center, the National Council of La Raza, George Soros's Open Society Institute, the Migration Policy Institute, the National Network for Immigration and Refugee Rights and the Southern Poverty Law Center.I'm sure they are just following their "patriotic duty" to entice or influence as many illegals as possible to sneak across the border and put down roots.
One of the things totaly absent from the illegal alien issue, is the baggage they bring with them. Crime, disease, and entire families. It's not just the young worker coming across the border, its his entire extended family if possible. Who picks up the tab for that family? Well right now its the US taxpayer. Even worse, as the case above shows, our healthcare system is taking a massive hit because of the illegal alien invasion. The Journal of American Physicians and Surgeons that is very well sourced about the hidden costs involved with illegals and their burden on our healthcare system.
BTTT
Good post.
How do you propose to do that?
There are just no good options around when we can't even guard the borders.
Jinx this hits too close to home for the Mrs'. job, -- eh?
We need a law that says that if you are illegal and you drop a kid, that kid is illegal also.
er's in california have gone broke.
amen what is it going to take to wake up these legislators?
It all goes back to the 14th amendment, and various court rulings based on what "citizen by birth" means.
They are just contracting the diseases American citizens are too lazy to contract. Who can blame them?
Excellent idea.
It does not mean the parents can stay. End of story.
The illegal aliens waltzed through the California hospital like kings. They didn't have to pay a cent for their care. That's why we've had several trauma centers close their doors.
Seems Bill O'Reilly has a petition for Pres Bush asking him to uphold his sworn duty. Here is a copy of the email I sent to all friends and folks on my personal email list. I also sent a copy to the Pres and O'Reilly. Let's get O'Reilly MILLIONS of signatures! The old count of 6 million illegal immigration law breakers is now 11 Million - 6 million Mexican and the rest your other variety of illegals.
(Please email concerned citizens and ask them to sign too. This is a repost of one of my posts, but applicable.
As you are aware, our elected politicians, Republican and Democrat alike, fail to do anything about illegal aliens. Bill O'Reilly has a petition on his WWW site. The petition is not anti-immigrant. The petition is for presentation to President Bush, requesting him to do his sworn duty to protect America and enforce the law.
The object is to try to roll back some of the potential disasters for our country. If you are tired of over burdened social services, high taxes and other concerns, consider signing the petition. Irked by over crowded hospital emergency wards (you pay, you pay for them, but you wait anyway)? Think the "illegals" may affect the US Dollar's value and balance of payments? (Many of the 11 million illegals send money home,) Concerned about crime, drug importation, Terrorists etc... ?
If you agree with O'Reilly, please sign the petition and forward this e-mail to others. If you disagree, that is your prerogative and I apologize if I may have disturbed you.
