You state your case well, sageb1, and I agree with you.

At the risk of you biting my head off as well, no one is glad the poor angel died. Goodness, he was going to die. The machines were all that stood between him and God in Heaven. He could not survive. Why should his little body be put through such a trial? They did what they could as long as they could for him.
God bless him and carry him to heaven where he is no longer suffering or diasbled.

you would do well to learn. Perhaps I need to be euthanized. Perhaps my problem with not being able to be learned right is congenital and incurable.
You've convinced me.
Now lets ask the judge to decide. How about the one is California just made a decision saying a ballot initiative on marriage passed overwhelmingly can't be followed.
Yes. You've shown me the way. Let judges decide everything. Not mothers, not you, not me. No. Judges.
We have great wise judges in this country, boy oh boy we do.

I'm beginning to wonder if perhaps tallhappy hasn't experienced a similar grief. It would certainly explain the instant attacks.
If that is the case, tallhappy, my condolences, and I will judge your posts accordingly.
If not, please eat my shorts.

Actually I believe someone who had been thru a similar situation would understand the limits of genetic disorders.
It appears tallhappy is just ornery tonight.
To: mcg1969
Not overwhelmingly, no. But I am not one of the "concerned" as I am in no way connected to this case. Me neither.
But the Mother was.
But she's cr-a-a-a-a-zy from what I hear on this thread.

Someone I loved very much died in my arms just recently. He was mentally ill and lived in a world he created to protect himself from hurt. Still, I loved him.
Someone in this thread questioned the mother's ability to raise her baby if the baby had survived. Who knows? I just hope she has family and friends who love her and who will help her through this. Perhaps she needs outside help. In all fairness, perhaps she does not. We only got a few glimpses of what is going on in her head and therefore, cannot judge or say for sure.

even going so far as to contact 40 other hospitals to find one who would take the child and continue the life support That makes a lot of sense. If they wanted the child to remain on life support they could have kept it there where it was already on it.
Is utter stupidity the rule?

You know, I had that thought myself a few minutes ago.

I agree completely.
If not, please eat my shorts.
I don't wear shorts, so "Kiss my grits" will suffice.

What's a week, month, year or decade compared to the endlessness of time or a mother's spirit?
Why so little patience? I guess the mother was somehow defective, as I read here, so she had to be put in her place.

I'd pray for a miracle first....there is NO way I'd leave my baby hooked up like that....if The Lord didn't heal him...then I'd unhook him and let him return to heaven. What if a judge forced you to hook him up?

I may be wrong, but I believe the reason the other hospitals were contacted was because the one the baby was in had decided they were going to take him off life support.

To: tallhappy
Me neither. But the Mother was. That happens when your child is dying, I hear.
But she's cr-a-a-a-a-zy from what I hear on this thread.
It would seem so, yes.

Even the Catholic Church understands the difference... ...but the Catholic Church does not consider the financial aspects of a tragic situation such as this. The point tallhappy was trying to make, I think--and if I think correctly, I agree with him--is that FReeper rmmcdaniell (#3) is a callous, coldhearted loser.
A few years back a FReeper asserted that we should be thankful for all of the abortions that have been performed since RvW became the law of the land...were it not for those abortions, finding a parking space would be impossible. I thought that was a joke. It wasn't. rmmcdaniell's comment brought that to mind.

What is more, the doctors claim that were the child not sedated, he would be suffering terribly as a result of the ARTIFICIAL extension of its life. So basically he slept for 5 months? I was wondering if he had any 'mental' growth in his short life.
