I offer 10 to 1 odds that the Republicans cave.

Sadly, unless Frist has bigger balls than anyone imagines, you may be right.

There is always the possibility that the 'Rats will overplay their hand so badly that the Republicans will indeed amend the rules to cease the filibustering on judicial nominees, and if the 'Rats try to shut down the Senate?

Have the Sergeant at Arms remove them from the Senate chamber, Vice President Cheney (as President of the Senate) rules on a motion to censure the 'Rats, they are effectively expelled from the Senate, and viola:

No more obstructionism.

OK, I admit - probably not the most realistic outcome, but hey - I can dream can't I?

I say we all contact our Senators asap and tell them (the Republicans) to call Reid's bluff---

Tell them to tell Reid that since the Reps are the majority, THEY will continue to do their jobs and vote on bills and nominees---

This time, I will take that bet.

I think the Republicans have been made to realize that we're not going to sit still and take their inaction lying down. They all remember how often their phones rang during l'affaire Specter.

Anyone want in on this?

I will raise it to 100 to one. The Reps are truly weak men who deserve our contempt. They are pushing our once great Republic towards rabid Socialism as fast as the demoRats. I bet very few Senators even know what the 10th Amendment means. I will also take 100000000000 to 1 odds that the excrement known as Specter will BLOCK any judge that believe in original intent. Yea, we have the three branches of government -- does any one see shrinking spending and employees?

Even money. The Pubbies are gutless wonders who only want to be "luuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuved" by the media. Ain't gonna happen, but, heck, they're too stupid to realize that.

Eleven years in the majority and they still act like @#$$y whipped little twerps when the DemonRATs open their maws and squall.

My kingdom for a majority leader with cojones.

They already have IMO or they wouldn't be putting out these phoney threats and would just do it!! (that is change the rules via so-called "nuclear" option)

I'm dubious that Frist even has the 51 votes. It may be a bigger longshot than 10 to 1.
