Gosh darn it, Michael Moore was right we just can't go around imposing democracy in the Middle East! Those poor people must be miserable, just look at them, look at them I tell you, they should be living safely under the boot of Syria, a government that cares about them, instead of out there smiling and waving flags and expressing an opinion!

We're such fascists!

...yeah, democracy will never take hold in the middle east, blah, blah, blah. You'd think images like these would make liberals wise up, but don't hold your breath, we wouldn't want you to pass out.

I was talking to a German banker who's been living in the US for the past 20 years a few nights ago, who proceeded to tell me with a straight face that as a European they understand better than AMERICANS the cultures in Middle East, and that they have more "respect" (his exact words!) for the cultural differences of "those" people -- the same ones they referred to as "THE NATIVES" throughout their sophisticated, long centuries of colonialism -- who don't want democracy and even freedom the way we all enjoy in the rest of the world.
