Generously assuming competent reporting, there's a subtle
but important difference between:
"collector has not explained"
and
"collector is unable to explain"
The article is written to make it appear that the
material witness knows more than he's saying.
Of course, they might also have said:
"collector refuses to explain"
The article also uses phrasing that tends to equate "gunowner" with an undesirable state of being, like being a leper.
