Either way, it will go to the 9th circus clowns of appeal and hopefully end up at the USSC. This ruling seems to be based solely on the California Constitution. Federal courts would actually have no jurisdiction for hearing this case.

If it's an amendment to the state constitution Per the down thread article it refers to it as a statutory law.
IMO the SCOC should reverse this ruling, and if not, then stone-cold-lock-winning state constitutional amendment will be in order.

My statement was moot, given that the decision didn't declare a particular part of the california constitution, unconstitutional.
