I just talked to onyx; things have settled down there.
He has strength in his arm and he can move his fingers; he's in his room, "out of the woods," (he said that himself!), and she is so grateful to everybody who has sent prayers for them.
She, on the other hand, sounds like she is on crack! She is jacked to the max; I suggested she walk down the hall and take a "hit" off the first thing she saw hooked up to a patient!
LOL! Good idea!
Did she ever go to sleep? I haven't talked to her since this morning, but she was wired then, too. Nervous energy. That's why I wanted her to take the sedative they gave her. Not that I could have, either...
Having a feverish day here, too, with our lil Shih Tzu - on my way to the vet, so I wont be able to catch up here til later. (But I'll post an update when she calls next, if I'm home.)
Thanks for this report - my prayers were sent earlier - I am just checking in to hear the good report.
I haven't read the rest of the thread - where are they? I know they're in the process of moving. If she's here in San Diego - I'll try to make contact with her.
Thanks again.
LOL Smile
I'm glad you joked with her. That's exactly what she needed.
Thank you for the update..Prayers continue for Onyx and her husband.
I certainly know where I'll go if there is ever a crucial situation here that needs immediate prayers. FReepers are amazing.
Great news.
This accident is still giving me the shivers.
Oh after about 26 hrs awake you will be having cognitive ability lapses Onyx. LOL I have had many days awake in my 25 yrs of being KV's careprovider.
Ya need to take the ativan the doc gave you and get some sleep. Trust me.
It is a horrible feeling to be sleep deprived.
Get some rest even if it is to lay down close your eyes and not really sleep deep.
Wow you are your husbands HERO!
I smell a honeymoon in the air. LOL
So glad he is moving the fingers and showing signs of mobility in his arm.
Who'd think he would have a two artery shoulder were there should only be one in the rest of us. Talk about custom design when ya need it.: )
You are getting sleepier @ @ @ @ @ @ @.
God Bless and Great outcome to a very scary close call horrific accident.
I hope you can get some help packing the rest of the job up and take it easy both of you.
Prayers continue.
Thanks so much everybody, for your prayers and best wishes, and may God bless all of you.
He is HOME! Released 48 hours after being at death's door.
For the acccident that went so bad, so quick, his turn around is nothing short of remarkable, and I'm calling it "miraculous," ... the power of prayer.
His surgeons are a little mystified, with all the jagged, torn, and severed artery, veins, and muscles, that his radius nerve was untouched. He already has full use of his arm and hand. No nerve damage. He will have a complete recovery. He's a little weak, (blood loss) but already taking charge of his surroundings (me) and he'll be back seeing patients next Monday. He is very humbled by this thread I have printed out for him to read and wants to thank y'all for your prayers, and for being such good FRiends with his wife. He says I am blessed by everyone's friendship, and I am.
FRiends here really matter. If it's too late at night to telephone local friends, we can always find friends here at FR 24/7. Thanks again everybody, for being here for me. You're ALL special.
Thank you for the update, Howlin. When I read your update, I laughed out loud, and thanked God at the same time.
