In my book, both Star Wars & Star Trek are very passe.

My buddy Joey lives in Paramus, New Jersey & is a real intellectual about SciFi. And Joey says that Battlestar Galatica is far more sophisticated & avant garde than either of these two earlier offerings.

Just so you guys know....

Star Trek should have been permanently retired 10 years ago. But Star Wars is not passe. You cannot argue with its success. While not the purest form of sci-fi, SW is more along the lines of a Joseph Campbell mythic tale set in space.

Sophisticated? Eh . . .

It certainly dances on the edge or pornographic - still if you guys at teh Sci-Fi channel are lurking:
