First see my post #414. Care to comment on that?
You say you hope to see the fatwah carried out. May I know what you're expecting?
This is just a condemnation for "istihlal"... not a fatwah calling for his death... you know that right?
Escudero said "a fatwa can be issued by any Muslim leader who leads prayer sessions and as he serves such a role" so basically hes saying that any muslim who decides to call himself an imam or mufti can make up or pull a fatwah out of his chosen orifice.
Lets see now... he claims the basis for his fatwah was "istihlal"... ie, making up new laws. Now, sharia is a cornerstone of islam, and noting what I said above in post #414, the basis for his own fatwah, can be equally applied to those who want to follow the laws of man, ie, secularism, over the laws of Allah, ie sharia. In fact if you read my previous post, its exactly what the Spanish Muslim keynote speaker of the "Islam in Europe" conference was alluding to.
Now, do you see the problem with this fatwah?
Why haven't there been hundreds of these fatwahs? Why only now? Why only one all these years later? When will they issue a bunch of fatwahs against killing Jews? Why will the issue fatwahs against wife beaters, jihadis and shaheeds? Hows about the Muslims who have been persecuting Christins, Jews, or others they deem as mushrikun?
