Ukraine has announced the withdrawal of its troops from Iraq.
The decision will see the pull-out of up to 1650 personnel from the country in three instalments.
The first has seen 150 troops leave from an area near As Suwayrah on Saturday, according to reports.
All troops are expected to be withdrawn by October.
The removal of the Ukraine's forces - the sixth largest contingent in the United States' 'coalition of the willing' - was an election promise by the country's new president, Viktor Yushchenko.
Ukraine has lost 18 soldiers in Iraq since committing troops in a decision by former president Leonid Kuchma.

i don't remember that, was that known??
The muslims are going to find taking over the world an easy task. Men have lost their gonads.
It was posted repeatedly but many chose to ignore it.
hmm, I guess i might be guilty of that??? I don't remember ever reading that, though....
Hey Yushchenko! You're welcome for all the support!

Its better to have Yuschenko democratically elected and withdrawing his troops than his russian supported opponent in office causing western Eurpean mischief.
Yes yes, be all sensible about it. I'm going to be bitter for just a minute!
It was basically irrelevant because the other candidate also promised to pull out the troops, so this was going to happen regardless. What does it really matter? All the Europeans are pulling out their troops. It's not because they no longer support us, it's because the war is over.
Viktor Yushchenko, a SOROS man.
Yuschenko same russian as Putin. Ukraine means "border region"(of Russia). It is exact translation on english.
You just check whom Yuschenko visited first after innaguration and you understand everything:).

Here is how one news broadcast described it...
The pro-Russia candidate is Ukraine's Prime Minister, Viktor Yanukovych. He's the current leader's protégé, and has won the support of Russian President Vladimir Putin and most of Ukraine's powerful business and security elite.
The pro-West candidate is the opposition leader, Viktor Yushchenko. He's vowed to tackle corruption and improve standards of democracy in Ukraine. His supporters claim authorities are planning to rig the vote and they've been leading rallies in the capital, Kiev, throughout the campaign.
The pro-Russia candidate is Ukraine's Prime Minister, Viktor Yanukovych. ===
They all are pro-russian. Accually there no difference between russian and ukranian. It is same blood and ansestry.
If you know history then you know that.
This ukranian election was just about power. One group against another. One group wants power and money then other group want same.
You will understand that it is no diffrerence for general public who in power. Yanukovich or Yuschenko.
