That's unfortunate, as far as the bashing. I've noticed it happens often, as well, against Catholics and Christians....as far as that's concerned, "people of faith" are often taken to task or mocked for their beliefs, on just about everything. It's a shame....especially after what has just happened with Terri Schiavo. There's definitely been a noticeable divide in this country.

Yes, I agree. It seems as though on both sides that if someone does not agree with one's beliefs, that that makes them "bad." Our nation was built upon the ideas of many people. Certainly not all the forefathers of our nation agreed, but they had a shared belief in the success of our nation and worked together to further that belief. We should all do the same.

Yes, Christians do get bashed which is unfortunate. There are a ton of good Christian people out there. However, it disturbs me when so-called Christians resort to the same liberal behavior. No, I don't think it applies in the Schiavo case exactly, but yes, I do agree that it does demonstrate the divide that exists. I'm talking about when Protestants (yes, I do note the first part of the name) bash others who don't agree with them, not lightly, but to the point of fanaticism and hatred. It is especially curious to see this directed by them against Catholics, as their own religions stemmed from them. It is interesting to note that I don't usually see LDS bashing other Christians, but I do see the other way around a lot. Needless to say, though, I am glad that there are many good Christian people out there they will truly be the ones who will dwell with HIM. I'm not saying really I can judge though--I believe only God himself has that authority (which some people actually take upon themselves to bash others). It does say that not everyone who says "Lord, Lord" will enter into HIS kingdom. There may be some Christians who will be surprised at the last day. I have to strive so that I am not one of them.

I see more bashing on a different thing. I am a public school teacher and am dumbfounded at some of the things said here. My father taught me to respect education and teachers and my siblings and I have benefited as a result of it and other values expected of us. Again, the liberal-type bashing gets demonstrated again and again. I bring up several key points and the many miracles that I see in my own class, but NO, according to the bashers, all teachers are communist, nation-bashing, gay-promoting, self-indulging, God-hating, and family-disliking people. Fortunately, I have never met any teacher who fits any of these categories. But this forum was about religion so I will keep it at that for now.
