Sorry to disagree (while acknowledging your Jim Robinson-given right to vent), but I am quite interested in some personal experience with this particular church. There does not appear to be a church web site, so from my vantage point here in the east this is good stuff.
And I would trust a Freeper's personal account more than one from the MSM.
Pharmboy: Google gets me started, then webcrawler, altavista, etc..
Eternal: I've respected you in the past. Don' know your story. Just asking that we stick to the facts. But I gotta hand it to you, Jim Jones and Waco? Jim Jones and the Milwaukee shootings is like night and day unless your old church habitually had such shootings and kool-aid fests. Must have been a very small congregation getting smaller by the week.
Anyways, according to my quick search it was like shooting fish in a barrel seeing that this Living Church didn't believe in violence or military service. So, it's as if this guy was Amish and brought a pistol to an Amish Sunday meeting and began shooting. I guess we could investigate those damned Amish and their damned church doctrine. They tithe you know? LOL
I have been a Freeper for several years, and I have also been a member of the United Church of God (www.ucg.org) for several years. The United Chuch of God and the Living Church of God have many common beliefs. I attended the Global Church of God (the former name of the Living Church of God). Many of us in the larger Church of God community have very friendly relationships with members in other organizations and sometime attend their services etc.
These murders are so tragic. Most of the folks in the Church of God are fine people, but there are a few people with serious mental problems who come into any organization.
