I have no theory on how it's related. Maybe they only play these incidents up on TV when gun legislation is in process. Or maybe they only propose gun legislation when they play these incidents up on TV. Or maybe just cosmic rays.
Be ready to answer any calls for more restrictive gun laws with: If some of these victims would have been legally armed, there may have been a lot less bloodshed!

We can be sure, however, there will be a loud cry against guns as a result of these two days of killings by guns. My son was shot, in the head, and is now blind as a result of a person with a gun. But, he had used guns himself for hunting, and knew how to handle guns. And my husband who is retired military has guns and knows how to use them. It is not the guns, it is the person/s holding the guns who have to be controlled and banned. But, that has always been the argument. It is based on morality, and we cannot decree or legislate morality any more than we can decree or legislate non-prejudice.
