And why is it "one of the stupidest statements"? Besides the US being technologically advances, per capita income highers, GDP higher and the US being teh worlds single most productive state... whats so stupid?

Read the sentence again. The EU is "20 years" behind the US economy and it will take them "decades" to catch up.

For the mathematically challenged, 20 years = 2 decades.

The department of redundancy department strikes again.

That productivity is being whipped off the backs of American workers. We are working longer, for less, in fear of losing our livelihoods, as we are hammered deeper and deeper into public and private debt. Productivity is a double edge sword; there is much merit in having a productive organization; but, it matters how that productivity has been achieved.

Title: EU economy 'at least 20 years' behind US

Translation: Globalist see opportunity to make money from the rape of Europe over the next 20 years.

It struck me as stupid, also. Why? Because an economy is not a "march of progress" toward a particular goal. You could say that technology is twenty years behind, meaning Europe is using technology of the 1980s. You could say that standards of living are 20 years behind, meaning that Europeans have the standard of living that the US had in the 80s. These are aspects that relate to economies that do progress over time, but the "economy" itself does not. In fact, economies are cyclical. As one poster said, I wish we had the economy of 20 years ago now.

As for "it will take decades to catch up", no kidding. If they are 20 years behind, one would figure it would take two decades just to get where we are now, from which point we would have moved on.
