I'd buy a Mac, but I'm not gay.

I hear you. I own a 1.6Ghz PowerBook G4 with a 17" screen. But I'm not gay.

Imagine that...

I went to look at Mac with my wife the other day. I asked the salesman, "So, do I get a discount if I say that I'm from San Fransisco?" He puts the topside of his hand under his chin, puts his weight on one foot, and lisps "honey, if you're from San Fransisco you need a Mac for a Wife, not a Mac for a computer"

"She's buying" I say while walking away to look AMD64 stuff. *insert tim allen grunt here*

You know, I've noticed that the really talented, productive people don't waste their time making childish, moronic slurs on other people, yet time and time again I see Windows fanboys doing just that. Those that can't do, post insults on the Internet, seems to be the new credo.

Get over yourself, already, and grow up. It's a computer, and my choice of Macintosh does NOT give you license to insult me, or other users.

I'd expect that kind of idiocy over on Democratic Underground, where we KNOW they have no class, it's really disapointing to see it here.

By extension, you're calling George W. Bush gay, as he has a Powerbook. Nice, really making this forum look classy, doncha know?

I'm a professional illustrator, designer and art director with over 15 years in the industry. I'm well regarded, have excellent skills, and make a fine living at it, with plans for much more wealth in the next few years. My *talent* makes all this possible, and it just so happens I chose the Mac as my platform - I own both Mac and Windows machines, and enjoy them both, even though the virus/trojan/adware situation on Windows is getting ridiculous enough that I've unplugged my laptop from the internet, and plan on leaving it that way, for now.

I'm certifying for my Adobe Expert Certification in Photoshop and Illustrator this year (I finally have time), and it's platform independant. I can do my job on either platform, as many, many people can, despite the protestations of Windows fanboys. It's all just FUD, and now that Apple is making headway again into markets, the "gay" slams are getting more and more frequent, and it's just stupid - you're not proving anything except you have no class or civility. You, sirrah, are an oaf.

Give someone with talent a computer running either Mac or Windows with Photoshop and Illustrator and InDesign, they'll create art - and it won't make them lisp or pick out track lighting in the process.

Give a *hack* the same - and they'll go online and insult Mac users.

We won't go into that most of it being "monkey see, monkey do", most people that attack Macs don't really have a clue why, they're just aping others.

"Ook, ook, Mac users are gay, ook ook". Here, have a banana.

In my personal and professional experience, and living in the Bay Area, most of the gay folk I know own Windows. Deal with that, or not, it's up to you.

I have a dual 2.0ghz G5 with a 23" HD Cinema Display, a Epson C2200 printer, and the full Adobe suite among other professional tools. Note, the keyword here is "tools". Without my talent, they'd just sit there. They won't turn me gay, they won't create art all their own, I have to turn it one and USE it.

It seems you'd rather use your tools to go online and act like a fool. Fien by me, but it's like a carpenter using his tools to carve racial slurs on the sides of buildings. It's a waste, it's rude, and it shows FAR more about your character than the people you're attacking

I think your time would be better spent developing some talents of your own, instead of using your platform of choice to act like a 12 year old.

And NO, I'm not gay, nor am I defending gay men and women, I'm just tired of being labeled as "gay" because of a computer I bought. How would you like it if I came over to your house, pointed at your TV, and said, 'Oh my God, you bought a Toshiba TV, you're so GAY!"
