I'm pinging you to my post #48 for an explanation as to why anyone would ask for intercession from a "dead person."
Have you ever appreciated a prayer said for you, or asked for prayers, or said a prayer for someone else? Since the Passion and Death of Jesus Christ conquered death, why should the ability to make intercession be ended with death?
If after death the Saints are asleep in the ground, awaiting the Final Judgment and Resurrection of the Dead, then I can see your point. But if after death the saints enter their glory in heaven, and await the Final Judgment and Resurrection there, then I can't.
Just a follow up question here. So do you think that when someone dies and goes to heaven, that they are aware of what is going on here? If that is the case, I would think it would bring great sadness if one of their loved ones was experiencing difficulty. I just think that I'm so careful because to pray to someone who died and ask them for help could open the door to someone who wants to believe their loved one is right there with them, talking to them etc. Like Sylvia Browne. It's too easy for some people to start glorifying the dead. Again, looking for answer here. Not trying to start anything.
We have no way of knowing whether any man, with the single exception of Jesus Christ, has or will go to heaven after death. Only God knows the true condition of a man's soul.
The title of the thread read "...PRAYING TO ARCHBISHOP SHEEN FOR MIRACLE ...". I am all for praying for miracles, but only to God, the source of all that is miraculous. Nowhere in scripture does it ever suggest that we should pray to anyone other than God.
For the record, death in itself is a miracle. Leaving your earthly body behind and receiving a new body is the ultimate healing, and God has provided that for us. It is time to let her go.
