"But if the Republicans nominate Condi, and she is "mildly pro-choice," we will regretfully vote for a third-party candidate or not vote at all. And so will several million other pro-lifers who gave Bush their votes last November."
That will only serve to marginalize your influence in the party. We don't need you as much as you think we do.
Ok, bobdole..."What Party Platform?? Uh-huh-huh..."
Without pro-lifers, the GOP would flat-line in short order.
This sounds much like what the leadership of the IL Republican Party thinks, and look at the moribund status of that pitiful organization. Has Alan Keyes left IL yet?
No, of course you don't need my vote. But you do need the votes of several million Evangelicals who turned out in the last two elections but will not turn out for a pro-choice candidate.
Catholics are more divided, but the liberal, dissenting Catholics will vote for Hillary, and the conservative ones will abstain.
Why do you think Hillary is spouting all that pro-life garbage? Because her pollsters have analyzed the elections and told her that's what she has to do to win.
