I think what bothers me most about this case is that even a wanton killer like Ted Bundy is not starved to death or allowed to die of dehydration. If they feel she should die then it should be by a painless method and with the dignity of having her family at her bedside. This is a death penalty case, the State is going to kill her because it thinks it knows what's best. This no different than tying someone to a tree and leaving them to die without food or water. No one would sit still for administering the death penalty in that manner so why do we feel it's OK to do it to a young lady whose only crime is that she's not able to feed herself? I have no problem with her passing on, she will be going to a much better existence than she has here, but she doesn't deserve to suffer in the process.
Putting Terri to death by starvation or by what you would be comfortable with as "a painless method and with the dignity of having her family at her bedside."... belies the fact that either method is euthanasia which is illegal and immoral.
This is not a death penalty case. This is a case which will set a prcedent for starving and dehydrating those who cannot feed themselves. Those who back euthanasia are hoping to set this precedent as it fits with their future plans for us all. God help anyone who supports this and hope they do not have to suffer murder by court decree should something incapacitate them or their loved one.
That's an excellent point. If a mass-murderer was starved to death, the liberals would be marching, screaming at the top of their lungs.
But let an innocent woman be starved to death, and you hear not a word.
We live in truly evil days.
Yes, and that is indeed a fine line we walk. That is Euthanasia, in the strict term. But better her mother and father make the choice, than a husband who gave up long ago.
"I have no problem with her passing on, she will be going to a much better existence than she has here, but she doesn't deserve to suffer in the process."
I agree with what you said. That is exactly what bothers me the most about the whole case.
