A feeding tube is not a machine!!! It is no more of a "machine" that giving a baby a bottle. Many people have them that are walking around, working, and at regular intervals using a syringe with a high nutrient liquid drink (when I worked as nurse, I gave these feedings, sometimes with the patient telling me how! )They are used for many reasons and in Terri's case, because of inability to swallow and danger of aspiration pneumonia.
I would not be troubled with removing the tube IF they allowed ice chips and tried small feedings. If she was unable to do this and died from complications, then it was God's will. To remove the tube and withhold hydration and any food at all is just cruel! Do that to your dog, cat or children and you'd land in jail.

Agreed. I've heard those silly rumors about the judge ordering no food and water by mouth, but until I saw his actual order, I just dismissed the rumors. I mean, come on! A judge can't order that. I'm still thinking there has to be a catch.
