Is that all she does? Just lay there smiling? She said she wouldn't want to live like that, hooked up to machines.
I had never seen those videos - quite compelling that she is alive and aware.
> You don't think it could happen here?
Could it? Well, maybe, I suppose it's possible. But how likely is it? After so many months, the likelihood of waking from a coma and being anywhere *near* lucid, much less fit to give testimony, is *very* unlikely.
She isn't "hooked up to machines."
Sure she's alive and aware. But she said she wouldn't want to live like that.
No, my sweet, HE said she said. There's a difference, you know.
This whole thing is about taking her off the machines.
"discomfort felt by those of us who believe we should err on the side of life not condemn someone to die when there are loving parents willing to assume care for their daughter."
"Amen" to that.
> I didn't accuse anyone of anything.
I stand corrected. However, Mike has been repeatedly accused of murder hereabouts, and with very little justification it seems.
No, it is not. It is about taking away food and water.
Well, apparently the judge believed she said it.
"Why was there no mention of Terri's wishes by Michael those first five years?"
Maybe he asked her after a while and she indicated she wanted to die 5 years after.
*Oops*, that would indicate she's not a total vegetable!
Oh poor Michael; he just can't win no matter which evidence he tries to use....
> Be sure to watch the videos.
You mean the greatly editted ones? To show that someone is *truly* responsive, you need a lot of uncut and in-context video, not snippets.
Because he had argued in court that he "would care for her for the rest of [his] life" in order to secure the malpractice award of $1.2M. You don't just turn around immediately and try to kill her or fabricate a memory that she wouldn't want any of this... you need to play the game for a while.
She's still allowed to eat and drink. She's just not able to. She said she wouldn't want machines. When your body quits processing food, pumping it in with machines does more harm than good.
How much does Gloria Allred get as a finders fee? (kidding...hope Michael comes to his senses)
You apparently haven't been following this case very closely.
I didn't know the videos were edited. That explains a lot.
There are no machines. Feeding her is putting food directly in her stomach rather than her mouth. You are grossly ignorant of the facts and should read more on the case. I don't say this as an insult but as a sincere suggestion.
Do a little more digging on this story, and I think you'll be surprised. The judge has outrageously ruled for the HINO every single time and either refuses to allow or scoffingly dismisses the multitude of testimony to the contrary. He dismissed testimony from Terri's own friends about what Terri said to them, because it contradicted what Michael said. He will not allow video or pictures to be taken of Terri, because they prove she is not in a coma. He will not allow food or water to be put near her mouth, because she might consume them. He is E-V-I-L.
