I was called not long ago; the case was a guy who was trafficing in cocaine (supposedly).
When the DA asked me if I could be fair, I said no. I was excused.
Why can't you be fair? I would enjoy being on a jury. I've only been called once, and wasn't even questioned then, they seated the jurors they needed before they got to me.
Hubby was called too a couple of weeks ago...was excused twice when he told them he was a 1sg US Army... two sexual molestation cases
I'll bear that in mind :o)
I said the same thing at what had every appearance of being a frivolous civil case I was called for possible jury duty on. I had to go into the judges chambers and be grilled by the plaintiff attorney as to WHY I couldn't be impartial all the while being entered by the court reporter into the trial transscript. (rolling eyes)
That happened to me also
They brought certain potential juries into chambers to ask further questions
When I finished explaining why ... the room was quite and the Judge thanked me for my honesty .. *L*
