You are right. It does happen. My husband also is an attorney, was an assistant d.a. in the area. Although it's a small town the authorities knew what areas the perps would go for cover. Always the same area and same ones protecting or covering for each other. Thankfully he has taken a different career path recently. I hated having to keep our phone # unlisted and I hated it when we were surprised when some showed up at our door one evening.

Yes it can be quite a stressful life. Have had mine threatened many times. Still pack a handgun to this day. Many, many in prison that have a bone to pick if and when they get out. Phone number is still unlisted. Probably always will be. Do a lot of divorce work now as well as criminal. And those scare me more than the criminal. Divorces can get nasty. Anyway, this guy will be a hero in the eyes of a certain segment of the population. He killed a cop and a judge. That is something that will make him a legend in the minds of some.
