Because the court "didn't want to prejudice the jury."

Are you sure about this? It is reported that he had already been tried (the trial ended in a hung jury) and he was out on bond.

Jeff the guy that Greg Jarrett was talking to on FNC sais that NONE of the defendants are brought into the court room anymore shackled becasue of the PC fear that it will prejudice the jury.

The guy could have been the second coming of Charley Manson and he still would not have been shackled.

I'm only sure about what I read in the lead MSNBC article 30 minutes ago. It said the prisoner was not in cuffs or leg irons because the judge thought that would "prejudice the jury."
